YuSU has a new navigation system

Yugra State University has new navigation signs, which make it much easier to get oriented in the campus.

Being in the university, people often find themselves disoriented due to the fact that the campus has a difficult system of passages. Being united into a single space with similar endless corridors and infrastructural objects, the university causes a feeling of confusion among visitors and new students.

In 2022 to solve this problem, Marina Bystrova, Head of Marketing Service of YuSU, and Adelina Yovik, a student of the Higher School of Digital Economy, developed a navigation design project. Based on their life experience, reflection and intuition, they defined a unified style, color, font and iconography of the infrastructure and created several visualizations of the signs of the logistics passages. The work continued in March 2024.

“Together with the designer - a student of the Higher School of Digital Economy - Elisey Ishimtsev and the commandant of the campus Nikolay Berdyshev, we assessed the volume and deadlines and came to the conclusion that at the first stage we would organize all passages.

Different people visit the university. They are applicants, students, conference participants and employees, parents of schoolchildren, schoolchildren, guests, partners and ordinary citizens. All of them needed clear navigation and logistics. The first stage - the most difficult one - has been completed, we will continue the development, add specifics to the educational buildings and complete the process", - said Marina Bystrova, Head of Marketing Service of YuSU.
