The master student of the YuSU establishes educational cooperation in Zambia

Nkumbu Silungwe, a graduate of Yugra State University, has become a shining example of how determination and hard work can lead to outstanding results. Originally from Zambia, Nkumbu completed his studies with honors in 2025 and received a quota from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science to continue his studies in a master's degree.

Now the student is in his homeland, but instead of relaxing under the hot sun of Africa, he devotes time to career guidance work among Zambian youth, igniting a spark of interest in Russian education in their young hearts.

He recently visited Kabulonga Boys High School in Lusaka, where he told the 12th grade graduates about the educational opportunities of Yugra State University, its history, higher schools and the variety of courses offered. The students listened to the guest with genuine interest, and bright flyers with the university's symbols and Yugra souvenirs were a pleasant addition.

They asked questions about life in Russia, the specifics of the educational programs and the possibilities of receiving scholarships, one after another, demonstrating genuine curiosity and a desire for new knowledge.

It is worth noting that the school education system in Zambia has its own peculiarities. Now 12th graders are preparing for the decisive stage – trial final exams, preceding the final examinations in November. Only in December, after passing the final exams, will the last school bell ring for them. It remains to be hoped that Nkumbu’s story will inspire many of them to choose YuSU as a starting point on the path to future achievements.

The visit to the school was not without cultural exchange. The children enthusiastically learned several simple phrases in Russian, and the phrase "We love Yugra" sounded like a hymn to friendship and future cooperation.
