Seminar for international students on countering terrorism and extremism

Yugra State University hosted a meeting of international students with:

Andrey Makarenko - Deputy Head of the Department, Head of the Department of National Policy and External Relations of the Public Relations Department of Khanty-Mansiysk;

Inomjon Abdilozov - Imam Khatib of the local Muslim religious organization of Khanty-Mansiysk;

Magomed Magomedov - Assistant to the Mufti of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, Surgut.

Andrey Makarenko discussed with the students the legislation of the Russian Federation and talked about how to behave in order to be law-abiding foreign citizens, as well as the consequences of breaking laws and available opportunities.
He emphasized how important it is to appreciate what has been built so that everyone lives in peace and harmony.
Andrey Makarenko also reminded the children to be critical of information from the Internet and to trust only verified facts.
Magomed Magomedov congratulated the students on the start of the new academic year and the first year students on a new stage in their lives. He noted that they have started on a very interesting and useful path of acquiring knowledge, which requires strength and will of spirit, and advised the students not to waste time and try to get the most out of student life.
In addition, he told the young people about the power of reason and choice: “Every day, every minute we face a choice, where we have to be guided by reason, to make the right choice between two options. Sometimes we make a choice, not guided by reason, but following our instincts, desires, emotions, impulse of anger, mood. This is wrong!”.
