On the Day of Russian Science, a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Yugra Higher Education Institutions was held at Surgut State University under the chairmanship of Roman Kuchin, Rector of Yugra State University.
Before the official part of the event, Yugra Deputy Governor Elena Shumakova delivered a gratitude letter to Burkit Makhutov, Vice-Rector for Development of Nizhnevartovsk State University, for many years of effective activity as Academic Secretary of the Council of Rectors of Yugra Higher Education Institutions.
"Occupying the post of Academic Secretary, you have always been a reliable supporter of the Chairman of the Council in solving the assigned tasks. You have also done a difficult work on the transfer of continuity and all the affairs in order for the Council to continue to work effectively and systematically", - said Elena Vitalievna.
The participants of the meeting discussed the work plan for the upcoming 2024 year, made suggestions for adjustments.
"Universities of Yugra are in unique conditions! No other region of the Russian Federation has such a powerful regional support. Already now we have many joint outcomes and successes, and our task is to continue building this friendly strong co-operation with the district to achieve high performance in the system of higher education.
Today, more than ever before, it is important to consolidate the efforts of the entire university community. Whether it is scientific and educational or sports activities. In a teamwork we only become stronger! It is important to exchange experience and positive practices and opinions. It is impossible to cover the boundless, and often, we create improper competition between each other, as a result, not getting the desired effect", - said Roman Kuchin in his welcoming speech.
Roman Kuchin noted that one of the primary tasks is also to enter the international agenda in terms of attracting foreign students: "It is important to form a common delegation from our educational community to represent Yugra. Each university has its own strengths, they are all unique and different, and in cooperation we will be able to get the desired result".
The Council members also discussed issues related to the development of student sports, employment and civic and moral education of the younger generation.
In the nearest future all proposals will be made to adjust the work plan of the Council of Rectors of Yugra Higher Education Institutions for 2024.
