YuSU hosted a meeting of students with Victoria Zakharevskaya, Head of the Republican Volunteer Center, as well as representatives of student youth - volunteers of the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting Victoria shared the history of the creation of the Center and the main areas of its work. She emphasized the importance of volunteering in educational institutions and its role in the formation of active citizenship of young people. Special attention was paid to the need for special training for volunteers, which allows them to effectively cope with various challenges and tasks.
Student volunteers told about their organizations and the projects they are involved in. Their inspiring stories demonstrated the diversity of initiatives aimed at helping society.
Victoria noted: “In my opinion, it is not enough to just come and say, ‘I want to do this’. Education is necessary! Otherwise it can lead to burnout. Our Center has the opportunity to train students and provide them with relevant state documents. We can also train international students.
The head of the Republican Volunteer Center noted that this was her first meeting with YUSU. She was impressed by the hospitality of the locals and the uniqueness of the architecture: “It is nice to see responsible young people ready to get involved in volunteer activities. The culture, nature and architecture here are unique. I express my gratitude to YUSU for the invitation and the opportunity to share my experience in volunteering and learn from the university's experience”.
