The A.V. Filipenko Foundation will be established at Yugra State University. The decision was made in honor of the 75th anniversary of the first governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. Income from the Foundation will be used to provide scholarships to the best students, teachers, and scientists.
It should be noted that Alexander Filipenko was one of the founders of Yugra State University. He always emphasized that education and science were priority areas of the Yugra government's policy, and that the creation of a university in the region would help prevent the migration of talented young people. Thus, thanks to his support, YuSU was founded in 2001 as the region's flagship university, which became a center for training highly qualified specialists and developing the scientific potential of the autonomous district.
"The A.V. Filippenko Endowment Fund is our tribute to Alexander Vasilyevich's special achievements, including the creation of the Yugra State University. We intend to continue to maintain the high standards of the Yugra scientific and educational center, train highly qualified specialists, and create all the conditions for the comprehensive development of talented young people.
